Recorded in October of 1976 at New York City s Sundragon Studios, the songs on the Ramones  sophomore effort Leave Home (1977) flew by even faster than those contained on the band s breakout self-titled debut, but they re certainly no less entertaining. Indeed, the sound on this 30-minute opus of buzzsaw rock is better both from a production standpoint and from a musical standpoint, showing that the band was learning and growing as a result of the work they were putting in on the road. Songs like Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Pinhead, and the immortal Sheena is a Punk Rocker are so damn catchy that it s virtually impossible for listeners to deny their brilliance.
